UNCUT Columbia Pictures pressbook for "HURRICANE ISLAND" starring  Jon Hall, Marie Windsor, Marc Lawrence, Romo Vincent, Edgar Barrier
The pressbook's ink has retained its darkness and the pages have retained their brightness. Printed on all-gloss paper.
No cuts.  This pressbook has been folded but flattened for 15 years .
The numbers 51-271 are stamped/written on the front cover. This was done by the National Screen Service (the company that sent these to theaters on behalf of the studios to promote the film) who stamped/wrote this on most of their material in order to file it. What is means is that this was released in 1951 and it was the 271st movie of the year.
The pressbook is in  great condition.  Small corner crease in lower left hand corner (see cover photo) and very small mark on bottom of front cover at the very bottom only about 1/6th of an inch.
This auction includes an original studio one sheet poster
(27" x 41) from the film as an extra (see last photo)! This poster is NOT a copy or reproduction but a studio original. While pressbooks are my main business, I am now including other movie collectibles  that I have amassed over the years as an extra, a gift to you for purchasing from our store. The pressbook in all of our auctions is the main item because that is my specialty. I do not grade or describe the condition of the posters as I am not an expert on movie posters, stills or lobby cards, it is up to you to study the photo as to the poster's condition. We guarantee that the photo posted here is a direct photo of the poster included (the poster image can be enlarged). Some posters have some kind of defect  whether it might be pinholes or writing on the back, blemishes, tear, creases, taped areas, an area with a rippled effect (probably from dampness, which can usually be seen on the scans, but not always) so please look very carefully as most of these have been used by theaters. On the other hand as I look through these, some are in great condition as well.

You are shopping my own personal pressbook collection, which has been given the greatest of care. It has always been housed in an air conditioned room, with a large HEPA air filter very close to keep away dirt and prevent extensive darkening of the pages. Most of these have been in plastic and not exposed to air or dampness and in a no-smoking home. All of this is important when considering to purchase a movie pressbook.

Pressbooks were sent only to theater owners to promote and advertise the movie and are extremely rare especially without cuts.This collection has been of the utmost importance to me and has been stored in a temperature controlled room. When purchasing pressbooks, remember that many were stored in the basements and attics of theaters, and could be damp or marked. I have never purchased any pressbooks that were not in excellent to near mint condition.
Inquire about quantity shipping. It is not fair to charge the same shipping for each pressbook if you win more than one, I will only charge the postal cost. Pressbooks will be very carefully packed! The shipping cost is as close to real cost as possible, I am not out to make extra profit on shipping, which includes shipping and extra large folders with cardboard to send them unfolded and protected from bending.
