Vintage Singer Darning and Embroidery Attachment
Foot for
Singer Slant Needle Sewing Machines.
Simanco 161596
Fits Singer Model series 401, 403, 404, 500, 503 and the 600s.
Made in Great Britain
It will
not
fit the Singer 301 Sewing Machine.
In very good vintage condition. The spring is sturdy.
I do not see any sign of corrosion, bends, breaks and the clear plastic eye is in very good condition.

NOTE: The archived pictures (below) of this type of
Singer Slant Needle Embroidery Foot are for demonstration and illustration only.
The "eye" in the foot is wide to accommodate a Singer zigzag sewing machine needle. The clear plastic allows you to see your machine embroidery as it progresses.
The spring places pressure on the clear foot just as
the
needle
makes a stitch holding the material in place.
The arm (also known as a "lifting finger...green arrow below) sits above the needle clamp on your sewing machine. It
lifts the foot as the needle is raised between stitches allowing you to fluidly move your embroidery under the needle.

Remember to set the throat plate lever position of your
sewing machine in the "UP" position.
